Congo Square (now part of Louis Armstrong Park) is sacred ground in New Orleans—the only place in North America where enslaved people were allowed to gather and maintain their African traditions. The drums that echoed through the square became the heartbeat of jazz, blues, and American music itself. Tanzanian coffee, grown in East Africa’s highlands, connects us back to those African roots.
